Catalog Description

Foundations of Data Science combines an introductory look into the fundamental skills and concepts of computer programming and inferential statistics with hands-on experience in analyzing datasets by using common tools within the industry. Additionally, the course investigates ethical issues surrounding Data Science, such as data privacy.

Section Notes

This class requires in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person meetings will take place on Thursdays 6:10pm - 8:25pm on the Mission Campus. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of and is 16 weeks.

PREREQ: Intermediate algebra or higher Recommended Preparation, Readiness for college-level English or ESL 188
