Catalog Description

Introduction to basic issues in special education TK (transitional kindergarten-12 including legal rights of children with disabilities and their families, Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), disability sensitivity and awareness, inclusion, collaboration strategies and community resources.

Section Notes

This class requires 2 mandatory in-person meetings and the use of Canvas. In-person classes are: Tuesday 8/20 from 6:10-8:00 in MUB 250 and Tuesday 9/17 at Support for Families -832 Folsom Street between 4th and 5th streets. Students will complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using an internet enabled device. This class is part of and is 17.5 weeks.
