Catalog Description

A general introduction to cell structure and function, cell biochemistry, cell cycle, principles of molecular and organismal genetics, genetic engineering, and animal form and function. Intended for students majoring in the biological sciences, but open to all qualified students.

Section Notes

This class is HYBRID with an asynchronous online lecture and in-person laboratory. The in-person lab meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:10 - 4:00 pm on Ocean Campus. Students will also complete coursework in Canvas, which must be accessed using a laptop or desktop computer. This class is part of and is a 17.5-week course that begins on January 16. PREREQ: CHEM 101A Recommended Preparation, (BIO 11 or 1 yr. HS Biology) and (Readiness for college-level English or ESL 188)
