Supervised work experience in youth-serving agencies to make connections between theory and practice. Observation and evaluation of school-age children and youth, planning of group activities, and the role of adults in youth programs will be examined in this course. This course fulfills the requirement for the Community Youth Worker Certificate. One unit of credit is earned for 54 hours of unpaid or paid work.
this class has 5 in person sessions on Saturdays: 1/20, 2/3. 3/2, 4/13, 5/4 and requires 90 hours field placement. This course fulfills the requirement for the Community Youth Worker Certificate. This course requires 90 hours of fieldwork in a community agency. Please obtain a TB test prior to first day of class.
PREREQ: Approval of the Child Development Department Recommended Preparation, ESL 186 or placement in ESL 188 or readiness for college-level English
