Experience in the Fashion industry though product design and development. Students will intern with local employers to gain meaningful work experience. Fabric Glossary is a comprehensive course designed for those whose career direction will require textile knowledge. Highlights include understanding of fabric's properties, characteristics, and garment-design potential. Learn about the most commonly worn textiles, how textiles affect the environment and working with fabric swatches.
Students will learn about the fashion industry, the social use of clothing, and modern fashion history through the people, events, politics, and cultures that have effected change.
This hands-on, field-based course teaches the skills required of various types of professional stylists. Students will be guided through the process of developing a professional styling portfolio which they can present to prospective clients.
This course explores the skills required for styling outfits, accessories, and props for
photography, film and commercials, visual merchandising, fashion shows and digital
media. Emphasis is on identifying the many styling methods used in promoting fashion
throughout the industry.
The theories and frameworks underlying forecasting in the textile and apparel industry. The factors involved in planning and presenting the forecast. Emphasis on using print, Internet, and broadcast information in competitive analysis.
