This course presents theory content with concurrent clinical practice with a focus on current therapeutic treatment modalities and nursing management for advanced medical/surgical patients. Core concepts include: care of the following patients; the burn patient; the patient in heart failure; the patient in shock; the patient with upper and lower airway disorders; the patient with tumors of the neurological system; the patient in renal failure; leadership and management.
Presents the principles and practice of nursing care of children from birth to 18 years old. Health maintenance, disease prevention and common childhood abnormalities are emphasized.
