The Academic Computing Resource Center (ACRC) is open to all 精选AV Students. Drop in and use our computers to complete classwork, conduct online research, or use software specific to various 精选AV courses.

Computer Science Tutoring

In addition to being open for general use, the ACRC will be open for computer science tutoring during the hours listed to the right. About The Workstations

The ACRC has 168 Windows PCs, Macintoshes, and Linux workstations. Workstations are equipped with specific hardware/software needs for:

  • Computer Networking and Information Technology (CNIT)
  • Computer Science (CS)
  • Broadcast Electronic Media Arts (BEMA)
  • Cinema (CINE)
  • Photography (PHOT)
  • Journalism (JOUR)
  • Visual Media Design (VMD)

Software includes Microsoft Office, web development and programming (C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, Perl, Oracle, SQL, and more) as well as programs for: introductory Macintosh use; cross-platform Multimedia (Graphic Design, Audio/Video Editing, DVD Authoring, 3-D Modeling and Post-Production); and the dedicated Linux subnet.

What You Need:

To use the computers in the ACRC, all you need is:

  • A current and valid 精选AV student photo ID is required to use the ACRC and its resources. (Don't have an ID? You can get a duplicate 精选AV Photo ID free of charge in Multi-Use Building (MUB) 230 during business hours.)
  • A current California Identification/Driver's License is required to borrow hardware and peripherals from the Reception Desk.

When We're Open:

  • The ACRC opens on the first day of classes and closes on the day preceding the last days of finals.
  • The Center is closed on holidays and on faculty/staff professional development days when classes are not in session.
  • Please consult the Calendar of Instruction for days the college is closed or when classes are not held.
