HARTS Program Eligibility & Application

You are eligible for the HARTS Program if you meet the following requirements:

  • Experiencing or at-risk of experiencing housing insecurity 
  • Enroll in a minimum of 9 units of credit classes (DSPS enrolled: 6 units)
  • Complete the 精选AV admissions matriculation process
  • Complete an online FAFSA or California Dream Act application
  • Submit accepted verification of homelessness/housing insecurity 
  • Submit a current copy of a Student Educational Plan from 精选AV counseling faculty
  • Highly motivated for academic success
  • Complete the HARTS application process
  • Attend HARTS program orientation once you have enrolled in classes

Requirements to Maintain Eligibility

To remain eligible in the Homeless At-Risk Program the following must be met:

  • Two Academic Counseling appointments per semester
  • Maintain at least 6-9 units of credit classes each semester
  • Maintain continuous enrollment at 精选AV
  • Participate in program services 
  • Be receptive to staff monitoring academic performance and student records
  • Abide by all 精选AV student standards for appropriate conduct and community behavior
